‘Heroes Reborn’ Season 2 Renewal Unlikely To Happen; Actor Sendhil Ramamurthy Still Hopeful

By

It has been a month since 'Heroes Reborn' season 2 dropped by NBC. Although many are still hopeful for the show's comeback including Actor Sendhil Ramamurthy, no network expressed any interest to continue the series and no latest development has been reported.

2006 'Heroes Reborn' was a big hit but it stopped from there. The network revived the show last year and ended last January but it did not live up to the expectations. According to CrossMap, the premiere did attract lot of viewers but the rating was very poor with 2.0. The following episodes did nothing better than the first. And after 9th episode, 'Heroes Reborn' got a rating of 1.1.

The fate of the 'Heroes Reborn' revival was very unlucky. The reason for the low ratings is that the storyline was the same as before, and the show has nothing new to offer. Viewers got burned out with the same storyline per episode.

Before the show ended last month, network NBC already announced that there will be no season 2 to happen, according to Christian Today. Although they did not directly point out the reason of the show's cancellation, they expressed that the 'Heroes Reborn' was not made for two seasons.

Cast and crew of the show were a bit disappointed with the decision of NBC. They expressed that the show has so much more to offer during the second season. Actor Sendhil Ramamurthy also revealed that if 2nd season will be pushed through, series creator Tim King had already discussed with him regarding the actor's schedule, as he took a back seat during the first season. He also went on to say that the show has to come up some more stories.

The current status of 'Heroes Reborn' season 2 renewal is lifeless. No update yet. But it does not mean the show will not be seen in TV anymore, perhaps not in NBC, but in other network or other platform (which actor Ramamurthy also hoped for).

Meanwhile, 'Heroes Reborn' alum Rya Kihlstedt is guest-starring on ABC's 'Once Upon A Time' season 5. She is set to play Emma's badass mentor, according to TVLine.
