Abrams finally admitted that season 5 is highly likely to be the last to air on television and fans across the globe placed an online petition via change.org to save the show from cancellation and let other major networks pick the show for a 6th installment.
"Person of Interest" Season 5 might be the final season of the series since CBS only ordered a 13-episodic run for the upcoming installment instead of of the initial 22 episodes. The newest season which slated to premiere last December 2015 was excluded from the network's line-up and will air around Spring of 2016 instead, Cross Map reports.
With that being said, executive producer J.J. Abrams revealed via The Hollywood Reporter that season 5 would likely be the final season to air on CBS. Abrams stated, "My guess is it is the final season. The only heartbreak there is [is] how much good story there was to come if it were to have continued. Showrunners Jonah [Nolan] and Greg Plageman have done such an amazing job on that show. I know what these episodes are that they've done wrapping it up."
In addition, loyal fans worldwide placed an online petition on change.org that gives full support to save the show from cancellation. So far, the the petition has received over 26,312 signatures and around 8,688 supporters are left to become 35,000.
The requests are also to other major television networks to pick up the series. Supporters clamor that the show has not only built a large fan base from across several nations, newer TV series are directly and indirectly copying its concept, IB Times has cited.
