After six long years following the launch of Skate 3 from Electronic Arts, a new leak on Skate 4 development has recently emerged online and revealed that the next main title to the video game series is underway for an August 2016 release date.
On its latest report, PixelDynamo wrote that the said leak on Skate 4 was uncovered from a post on the Australian electronics website named JB Hi-Fi which revealed an Xbox One cover for the new game including a solid release date. It bore a bold font in white with a slated launching set August 23, 2016.
However, similar to other leak discovery online, the listing was immediately removed but fans can still follow the site link here.
Fans are advised to take this info with a grain of salt considering the possibility that the photo could just have been fabricated by pranksters. On Reddit forums, a lot of gamers are convinced that the cover might be a fake one.
As one Reddit user puts it, "Not buying it. The cover art doesn't keep in style with the first 3 games. Plus the '4' looks like it was made using Paint.net's line too."
Another user claimed that the image used on the box art is actually artwork from "Skate 2." "That image is from 'Skate 2' promotional artwork."
If the leak is to be believed, however, Skate series will join the likes of Harmonix' Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Activision's Tony Hawk Pro Skater franchises that got all sequels last year.
Electronic Arts (EA) released Skate 3 as the third game in series where it garnered positive feedbacks from gaming aficionados and with its success, it got a reprint back in 2014 due popularity earned from YouTube 'Let's Play' videos, reports Design N Trend. Skate 1 and Skate 2 were also acclaimed for its realistic gameplay and button layout.
After many years since Skate 3 was launched, it is only seemingly fitting that EA could already be cooking up Skate 4 in its factory and let the cat out of the bag for this year's release.
