Star Wars: Battlefront February Update Detailed by EA; Weapon Balance, DLT 19 Adjustments and More Included

The action shooter video game Star Wars: Battlefront received a patch last month with a large number of changes including weapons and characters. The game will soon receive an all new February update and EA has released some of the details to look forward to.

In a report by International Business Times, the developer stated that tons of feedback from the gaming community was considered and a lot of data mining was done for them to see the game's performance following the huge January update that brought a number of tweaks to the game's weapons and characters.

What they discovered is that in the previous update, some of the weapons balance were weaker. In addition, a community manager in the Star Wars: Battlefront forums who goes by the username Sledgehammer70 said, "across the board, it was revealed a few weapons that had been balanced were showing to be slightly weaker than we had hoped in many situations."

Tweaks to Bowcaster and Homing shot will be seen in Star Wars Battlefront February Update where he promised that it will be returned "in line where we feel they should be." Sledgehammer70 added that players can consider it to be "buffs."

"Yes, these would be considered 'buffs' but we're not going into specifics until we reveal the full patch details," said Sledgehammer70 as quoted by UK Daily Express.

The community manager also said that Star Wars: Battlefront players will experience weapon buffs versus air vehicles, adjustments in barrage damage, adjustments in DLT19 and others. Changes to the Starfighters will also come with the February update.

"We have been gathering feedback across the board around Starfighters and are getting ready to make some changes across the board," said Sledgehammer70.

"The first item, of course, revolves around the A-Wing, as our team outlined here, you will see changes in how the A-wing's hit-box functions among other adjustments to make sure this Starfighter is aligned with its counterpart," he added.

Lastly, it was also revealed that the February update will address the Starfighter shields usage to ram vehicles on the ground.

Star Wars Battlefront, the third main entry in the Star Wars: Battlefront series, was released on November 17, 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
