Acer has unveiled its flagship smartphone Liquid Jade 2 along with the Liquid Zest and Liquid Zest 4G during the Mobile World Congress. Jade 2 is armed with amazing specs and features including a 1TB of Hybrid Storage.
According to 9to5Google, the most interesting feature that the Acer Liquid Jade 2 has is the 1TB of Hybrid Storage. Acer is reportedly using its technology to combine the 32GB of memory in the device with cloud storage to give users up to 1TB for installing apps, storing music and video, and anything else they would normally store locally. The company didn't state tons of information about its exact meaning, but from a user experience perspective, this basically indicates that users can install apps, store and access music, photos, and video collections easily with their favorite apps.
Aside from the Hybrid Storage, Ubergizmo cited other specifications of the Acer Liquid Jade 2. This handset features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display and a Full HD resolution which is somewhat unfortunate as many tech enthusiasts are looking forward for QHD. Its display is also legible even under sunlight due to the use of Zero Air Gap technology. The Liquid Jade 2 sports a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass screen and the front panel has a metallic touch to it.
Under the chassis, the Liquid Jade 2 is not the most powerful phone, but it is pretty decent as it is armed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset. It is also paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. As for the camera, this handset features a 21MP rear-facing snapper with phase detection autofocus and the ability to capture 4K video. It is also notable that the camera software comes with a professional mode that lets users tweak settings like white balance, exposure, ISO, and more.
Along with the Liquid Jade 2, Acer also unveiled Liquid Zest and Liquid Zest 4G. Times of India noted that both handsets boast a 5-inch HD display and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. They also come equipped with an 8MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera. The only difference is the processor of the smartphones as the Acer Liquid Zest is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, while the Acer Liquid Zest 4G features a 1GHz quad-core processor.
When it comes with the pricing and the availability of the handsets, Acer hasn't stated any information yet but it is expected for the company to announce the details soon.
