Lava International Limited is a big name in India but a relatively new player on the international smartphone scene. The Indian company has just revealed its newest budget-friendly smartphone, the Lava A71.
The Lava A71 measures at 145.5x72x8.45mm and comes with a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million colors at 720 pixels by 1280 and a pixel density of 196 pixels per inch. The screen also supports HD resolution. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass to prevent it from those tiny bitty scratches.
The A71 is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor coupled with a 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The device comes with an 8GB internal memory and is fully upgradeable to 32GB via external microSD card. The device will run on Android's 5.1 lollipop but will be upgradeable to the latest v6.0 Android Marshmallow.
For the camera department, this device comes with a 5MP rear-facing camera with LED flash for those night shot. It will be coupled with a 2MP front facing camera, also equipped with an LED flash, good enough to catch those selfie moments. The camera can also record HD videos at 720 frames per second.
All this hardware will be powered by a 2500mAh Li-poly battery. No reports yet if it will removable or not. The Lava A71 also is equipped with 4G connectivity, pretty sleek feature for a budget smartphone. Other noticeable features of this device are GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth v4.0 for connectivity. It also comes with a hotspot function to always keep your friends connected.
The A71 also comes with an FM receiver to hook its fans on the latest news and current music via the radio. According to reports this device is only available in India and China as of the moment and cost around Rs. 5,849. The listed colors of the A71 are black and white.
