Asus is making a mark in the smartphone industry with its bang for the buck handsets. After the success of the Asus Zenfone 2, Asus is now on its way to release the new Asus Zenfone 3 as it makes a cameo appearance at the GFXBench event.
According to Asus, there are two variants to the Zenfone 3, the model numbers are Asus Z010DD and Asus Z012D. Though still unofficial, this smartphone fall into the midrange and budget class devices.
The Asus Z010DD variant will have 5.9 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution. It is ramped up by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 615 system-on-a-chip and Adreno 405 GPU for the graphics.
For the photography department, this model will have a 12-megapixel primary shooter with a 5-megapixel front snapper. Both cameras can capture full HD videos which are a welcome treat for fans. It will have a 2.8GB Random Access Memory and a whapping 32GB internal memory as reported by GSM Arena.
The Asus Z012D, on the other hand, will have a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, even better than the previous but will definitely have a smaller screen at 5.5 inches. It will run on six cores under Snapdragons chipset with Adreno 510 GPU.
Like the previous model, it will have a 2.8GB RAM and also a 24GB internal memory. No specific details on the camera were divulged yet by Asus. Both smartphones though run on Androids latest v6.0 Marshmallow.
Additional rumors regarding the latest Zenfone 3 is that it's going to have a fingerprint scanner, a pretty touch considering the fact that it's a midrange smartphone. These smartphone models are just prototypes and experts are still unsure if this is the final line up for the Zenfone 3. But Asus officials confirmed that they will release the Zenfone 3 within this year. Exact details regarding this phone will definitely surface a few months from now.
