Apple's March 15 Event To See iPad Air 3, iPhone 5se, Apple Watch 2's Launch: Rumored Specs, Features Detailed

Apple is set to launch its new devices including iPad Air 3, iPhone 5se and Apple Watch 2 during its upcoming event on March 15th. As the launch of these gadgets is nearing, predictions and speculations about its specs and features have consistently made rounds on the rumor mill.

Neurogadget stated on its article that it was in the beginning of February when Apple was reported to release the new 4-inch iPhone 5se, the iPad Air 3, and new Apple Watch band options at an event next month. Apple was reportedly on track to launch these new products during the week of March 14th. Nevertheless, as the scheduled event is still a month away, the date could possibly change or turn into an online announcement. The said media event would be Apple's first since September, and just like the fall event, it is planned to touch on three major product categories of the Cupertino-based company.

As for the devices specs and features, it was previously reported that the Apple iPad Air 3 is a 9.7-inch tablet that has four speakers to bring its audio quality up to iPad Pro's level. It is also believed to be armed with a Smart Connector for accessories like a Smart Keyboard. Users can expect a rear camera flash to this tablet, but not 3D Touch technology. Nonetheless, it will be armored with a pressure-sensitive display from the iPhone 6s.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 5se is expected to be a cheaper smartphone that will still have a few features seen on the Apple iPhone 6s and Apple 6s Plus. With the powerful A9 SoC and M9 motion co-processor, the device will sport an 8MP rear-facing snapper and a front-facing 1.2MP shooter for selfies and FaceTime.

The iPhone 5se will also come with always-on Siri, and an NFC chip to support Apple Pay to expand the use of its mobile payment service. The iPhone 5se will have Live Photos; however, without a 3D Touch display, it will most likely require a long-press to activate. It is expected to be released in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and Space Gray.

For the Apple Watch 2, a recent patent has surfaced and according to Yibada it is entitled "Volume Control for Mobile Device Using a Wireless Device". Based on the report, this will ensure all notifications on a user's iPhone are played at an appropriate volume using the Apple Watch's ambient audio samples.

It was also cited that Apple Inc. may possibly use this technology to enhance or decrease the time taken by a user to turn on "Hey, Siri." This new technology on the Apple Watch 2 may turn out to be a wide-ranging feature for the iPhone, as the patent also mentions some other developments in the smartphone's features and settings using the same process.

In order to achieve these modifications, Apple will be incorporating the built-in microphone of Apple Watch to take hold of a sample ringtone of the smartphone and employ it to control the volume of a paired iPhone accordingly. This new technology is believed to be a fascinating idea, which would not only tie the Apple Watch and iPhone together, but can achieve much more.

If iPad Air 3 and iPhone 5se will, indeed, be released on March 15, fans can expect these to go on sale by March 18th. As for Apple Watch 2, if the aforementioned date do not materialize, it might be unveiled together with next iteration of iPhone in the latter part of the year.
