Six men, including private security contractors, have been charged with battery and false imprisonment after forcibly removing a woman from an Idaho town hall.
The incident occurred February 22 during a Kootenai County Republican town hall at Coeur d'Alene High School, where tensions flared as Teresa Borrenpohl engaged in a heated exchange with Sheriff Bob Norris, KTVB reported.
The confrontation was captured in a viral video showing three men in plain clothes dragging her out of the event. The men were later identified as employees of Lear Asset Management, a private security firm whose business license was subsequently revoked for violating city regulations regarding security personnel identification and uniform standards.
On Thursday, the attorney for the City of Coeur d'Alene announced that six individuals connected to the incident are now facing criminal charges. These include Paul Trouette, Russell Dunne, Chistofer Berge, Jesse Jones, and Michael Keller, all charged with battery and false imprisonment, among other violations of security conduct.
Alex Trouette IV was also charged with multiple security code violations. The Coeur d'Alene Police Department has recommended these charges to city prosecutors, who are awaiting completed affidavits before filing in district court.
The city attorney indicated that the affidavits would be filed soon but did not rule out the possibility of additional charges.
