With the Apple event imminent on March, many are wondering if the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air 2016 would make an appearance during the occassion. While a lot of fans are hoping that the devices will, a few reports suggest that these laptops will arrive sometime in first half of the year instead; and both will unfortunately not sport the touch screen feature.

Master Herald stated on its article that Apple Inc. is always having an upgrade with its MacBook lineup at least once a year. The last update was made during the first and second quarter of 2015. Now, the American tech company is expected make an update and release the new members of the MacBook family.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kou formerly stated that the latest version of the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air will arrive in the first half of the year. But recently, information has surfaced that the MacBook models will make its first appearance at the WWDC this coming June. Tech enthusiasts are then predicted not to see them in the retail markets until the third or fourth quarter of the year.

When it comes to specifications and features, the MacBook Pro is expected to have a touchscreen feature. Nevertheless, Parent Herald reported that Apple is not planning to release touchscreen laptops as the company's units alone already has touchpad that provides all the experience user's fingers need. But there is still a possibility that Apple might change its mind as the company perceive how Windows 10 touchscreen laptops are a sought after in the market.

MacBook Pro 2016 could also be fuelled with Intel's sixth-generation microarchitecture, which is known as the Skylake chip. This chipset not only enhances the performance, but the graphics and power efficiency of the laptop as well. The Skylake update in the processor would feature a smarter power usage that can help in prolonging the MacBook's already decent battery length. It is also believed that the graphics will be kicked up, allowing for a 4K output on some devices.

Additionally, a lot of competitors are releasing laptops with 4K displays, so Apple may also make a move to enhance its Retina display laptops. The Cupertino-based company might also integrate some of the features that are already visible in the 2015 MacBook laptops. These include the USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt and the Force Touch trackpad.

The soon-to-be released MacBook Pro laptops will also ship with the current OS X El Capitan.

Meanwhile, the MacBook Air 2016 is expected to have three variants; a 12-inch version, 13-inch and 15-inch models. This device is set to feature a thinner frame and retina display. There are also predictions that it will be engineered with Intel Broadwell or Skylake processor.

However, these are just predictions and avid fans of Apple MacBook Pro and MacBook Air 2016 are advised to take the news with a pinch of salt. They can only hope for Apple to officially announce the specific details of the upcoming laptops soon.
