20 models of the Apple Watch received big price discounts at B&H. The Apple Watch 2 may soon be unveiled in March though some experts believe that it will come later in September.
Retailer B&H offered big discounts on the Apple Watch. BGR reported that B&H slashed $100 off the prices for 20 different models of Apple's first-generation smartwatch. According to the report, the sale covers 10 42mm and another 10 38mm Apple Watches. They can be purchased for as low as $249 at B&H.
Customers can avail their Apple smartwatches in different colors such as silver aluminum, gold, rose gold, red, white, space black, and space gray. They can choose between an Apple Watch Sport or a stainless steel variant. The sale includes free shipping or pick-up in the nearest B&H outlet.
Aside from B&H, other major retailers are giving the same discount on the Apple Watch as per Ubergizmo. Best Buy and Target also offered $100 savings on the Apple smartwatch, in time for Valentine's Day.
Price cuts on the Apple Watch suggest that its successor may be released soon. Reports say that the Apple Watch 2 will soon be unveiled on a March event. It will reportedly launch alongside the iPad Air 3 and the iPhone 5se.
However, some experts assume that the Apple Watch 2 will have its release at the Apple September event. They believe that Apple will only roll out software updates and new bands for the Apple Watch this coming March. Analyst Gene Munster predicted that Apple might only release a minor refreshed version of the Apple Watch in the March event.
Lawyer Herald said that the Apple Watch 2 will likely have a round screen and upgraded specs. It will reportedly have new, enhanced processors created with 14nm fabrication process for a longer battery life. Other rumored specs of the next-generation Apple Watch are a FaceTime camera, magnetic wristband, and better WiFi.
Last year, Apple sold around 12 million units of its smartwatch. The Apple Watch comprised more than half of the smartwatch market in 2015.
