Samsung Electronics is expected to release Samsung Galaxy Note 6 in third quarter of 2016. The next family member of the Galaxy Note series will reportedly sport a 6 GB RAM, 12-megapixel camera and other impressive specs.
Christian Today reported that although the Samsung Galaxy Note 6's release date has not been confirmed, the device is anticipated to arrive some time in the third quarter of this year. This follows the launch of Galaxy S7, which will be on February 21.
It will likely sport an increased screen size of 5.8 inches compared to its predecessor that only has 5.7 inches display. However, separate reports suggest that the Galaxy Note 5's successor will have a much bigger screen size of 6 or 6.2 inches.
The Note 6's camera resolution is reportedly decreased at only 12 megapixels for the main camera, 4MP less than its predecessor's 16 megapixels. If not, then the phablet's main camera could havea n enormous 30-megapixel resolution and a 16-megapixels selfie shooter which is suggested by some contrasting reports.
Meanwhile Android Headlines stated that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 might have a 6 GB of RAM, 2 GB higher than the 4 GB RAM in the Galaxy Note 5. For the processor that will be powering the device, a leaker revealed that there will be two processors for the Galaxy Note 6. This would be the same thing that the tech enthusiasts are expecting with the Galaxy S7 later this month: a Snapdragon 820 and Exynos 8890. It was noted that these two are also speculated to be included in the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.
As far as storage goes, it seems that Samsung is doing 64GB and 128GB models for the Galaxy Note 6. This means that there won't be a microSD card slot this time around, something that Galaxy S series patrons are hoping for the Galaxy S7 during the unpacked event.
As of the moment there's no available information about the capacity of the battery. But as the Galaxy S7 Edge is supposed to get a huge bump to 3600mAh, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Galaxy Note 6 getting a larger battery as well, perhaps over 4000mAh.
Moreover, a source who is close to Samsung Electronics has revealed that the South Korean tech company may discontinue its Note series after the release of the Galaxy Note 6. Although it is not yet confirmed, there is a really high chance that Samsung would take this move, as the Note series are becoming more like the Galaxy S series from specifications to screen size. As a matter of fact, the Note and S series are almost identical. The difference between last year's Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ are not that much except for the stylus and some upgrades in the former.
But as always, it's important to keep in mind that this is just a rumor so it should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, there are roughly 6 months left from the predicted unveiling of the Galaxy Note 6, so these rumors are subject to change.
