'The Flash' and 'Supergirl' Season 1: EPs confirm crossover episode 'World's Finest' airing March 28

EPs Kreisberg and Berlanti confirmed that "Supergirl" will be having a crossover episode with "The Flash". That said, Grant Gustin will make a cameo appearance and also, "Chasing Life" actress Italia Ricci has been cast as DC Comics villain Silver Banshee.

"The Flash" star Grant Gustin officially signs in to guest star in the upcoming crossover episode of "Supergirl" Season 1 and according to Design n Trend, the special episode was written by Andrew Kreisberg and Michael Grassi based from Greg Berlanti's story.

"Chasing Life" alum Italia Ricci officially joins the cast of "Supergirl" and Variety has reported that the 29-year-old Canadian actress will be playing the recurring role of Siobhan Smythe. Smythe was first introduced as Cat Grant's (Calista Flockhart) newly hired employee at CatCo. who becomes a work nemesis for Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoit) and a deadlier foe as the DC Comics villain Silver Banshee. Ricci's character will debut in the 14th episode of the freshman drama series.

Executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti confirmed via We Got This Covered about the upcoming "The Flash" and "Supergirl" crossover. Kreisberg and Berlanti stated, "We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl. The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up! We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out."

"The Flash" and "Supergirl" crossover episode 18 is entitled as "World's Finest". The forthcoming episode is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, March 28, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. exclusively on CBS.

"Supergirl" is an American superhero fiction action-adventure drama TV series developed by Ali Adler, Greg Berlanti, and Andrew Kreisberg. The storyline is based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl.
