Pokémon GO is set to be released this 2016 and fans are speculating on the concrete debut date. Niantic talks about how new augmented reality games like Pokémon GO will influence future developments of the gaming market.
Fans are considering and hoping February 27, 2016 as the big day for the augmented reality game Pokémon GO to be available to the public, Neurogadget posted on its site. The supposed release date coincide with the Ingress Live event in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. However, The Pokémon Company is not confirming on the exact date but instead posted in their Facebook page that the game will be released soon.
Niantic CEO John Hanke described Pokémon GO as a challenge to real world gaming design. Adding to the test is the Bluetooth wearable device created by Nintendo named Pokémon GO Plus. The GO Plus will notify the player of a nearby Pokémon, the site said.
According to Parent Herald, what started as an April fool's joke between Google and Nintendo now is on its way to be released. The very much awaited video game Pokemon Go has been fashioning buildup ever since it was announced to be in progress. The game will be further discussed during the GDC 2016 including its concrete debut date.
Pokemon GO as a new AR game is foreseen to be part of a new line from an expanded Nintendo and Niantic partnership, as per Express UK. Niantic has its mental picture for the upcoming Android and iPhone title.
Niantic Japan President Setsuto Murai believe that games like Ingress and Pokémon GO is set to swell the market for AR games.
"In about 2-3 years from now, we think game apps that can only be done in smartphones will become the mainstream," Murai explained as quoted by Express.
With this notion from Niantic, reports have it that Nintendo NX handheld could devote a level of AR support. Dr. Serkan Toto agrees that the platform is a new business that needs to be developed quicker, the news source wrote.
