CBS Entertainment is releasing the Season 5 of the hit TV series "Person of Interest" this coming spring. However, there might be no more runs after as rumors have it that season five will be the show's final season. If proven accurate, series star Amy Acker hopes for Root and Shaw's happy ending to be featured.
According to Cross Map, Glenn Geller was invited at Television Critics Association Press Tour to give some small hints about the series. He stated that "We ordered 13 episodes, we hope to get them on this spring. That's what we're targeting right now. Jonah Nolan and Greg Plageman have planned a terrific season. Can't wait for the fans of the show to see it. It'll be a real treat for viewers."
While the "Person of Interest" showrunners are excited for the upcoming run, some avid fans of the series are nervous because of the rumors that the season five will be the show's last run. "Star Wars: The Fore Awakens" director JJ. Abrams has earlier stated that the series was on its "final leg". Even Galler hinted this saying that the scripts that were written for season five can be considered as a series and season ender, Youth Health Magazine reported.
Based on the reports of the Television Critics Association Press reporters, the season five of the Person of Interest is close to a "done deal". But many fans are still waiting for some twist and new characters from the season five.
Regardless of the show's fate, the upcoming season will reportedly be more of a Root and Shaw events. Amy Acker, who plays as Root in the series, stated that even though the new season will have an additional interfaces between her and Sameen Shaw, Root will continue to undergo numerous struggles cause by her relationship with both men and the machine.
As reported by Christian Today Amy Acker added "That's been a struggle because they are both priorities to her. At the end of last year, she ultimately had to decide that if she didn't do everything to save the Machine, there's no purpose to saving Shaw."
Acker also addressed the speculations of the show's cancellation saying if Season 5 will, indeed, be the finale season, she still hopes Root and Shaw would find their "happily ever after" and that they would live together with the Machine, with Bear and with the twins.
Up to this date, there are still no concrete details about the specific airing date of the the season five. But if the Spring release will materialize, March may be the show's earliest expected premiere. Additionally, the staff of the series have not yet confirmed if "Person of Interest" is slated for a sixth season.
