The much-awaited handset Microsoft Lumia 650 is expected to hit the market shelves of Germany next month. Specifications, features and the price of the upcoming handset of the American tech company were already specified.
According to International Business Times, earlier speculations said that the launch of the Lumia 640's successor will be on February 1, but Microsoft has pushed it back to sometime in mid-February due to a software issue. However, no specific date as to when it will be unveiled has been provided as of this writing.
There are reports that have surfaced though, stating that Lumia 650 will be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC 2016), which will start on 22 February. But enthusiasts believe that the company would possibly choose a low-key event for its launch.
Either way, the Lumia 650 handset is expected to hit the store shelves of Germany in early February timeframe. Germany's major mobile carrier O2 will apparently sell the device and it will be available in the combination of Black and Dark Silver or White and Light Silver. This handset is also expected to be offered by AT&T's Cricket Wireless starting April 2016.
Specification wise, the Lumia 650 has a 5-inch HD display with a metal frame. Under its chassis, is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor running the Windows 10 Mobile operating system. It also houses an expandable 8 GB internal storage, 1 GB RAM, 8MP main camera with LED flash and 5MP front snapper. All these will be powered by a 2,000mAh capacity battery.
When it comes to the price, the Microsoft Lumia 650 might be tagged at 219 euros without any contract, which roughly translates to $237 based on today's exchange rate.
Nanotechnology News stated that this could be the last Lumia phone from Microsoft. The forthcoming cancellation of the Lumia device indicate the start of the highly speculated mobile handset from the Redmond-based tech giant -- the Microsoft Surface Phone.
With the Microsoft Lumia 650's delayed release, this may designate that the company is still polishing the handset. Nevertheless, Microsoft fans do not need to worry as they would finally see the device next month.
