HTC One M8 on T-Mobile Now Confirmed For Testing; Release Date Details, Plus Surprises

By

HTC One M8 units under T-Mobile are now confirmed for the testing stage through the carrier's posting on its support page. T-Mobile's move was theoretically prompted by HTC's announcement last Saturday about the much-awaited updated.

T-Mobile is now changing the current software status of HTC One M8 from under Manufacturer Development to the Testing stage. As announced by HTC's Mo Versi, the magenta carrier must indeed be releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the device middle this week.

It was revealed first by Versi that they are targeting January 25 so it is also possible that T-Mobile will be able to release the update anytime today.

Unlocked versions of HTC One M8 units have already received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update since December 2015 and were pioneered by Sprint and US Cellular, respectively, in the United Stated as January 2016 opened.

In the testing stage, the device will undergo a certification process wherein evaluation of Marshmallow's performance will be conducted to ensure the best out of the new software. If Marshmallow in testing stage will be pronounced ready, official release will usually come a week after.

Deemed the grandest upgrade in Android history, Marshmallow will bring in notable refinements for the One M8 on top of T-Mobile's native features and HTC's very own Sense 7.0 user interface.

Among T-Mobile's priority devices and apart from Google Nexus phones, One M8 is the first to move up to the Testing phase, as others were still stuck in the Manufacturer Development. On T-Mobile's waiting list are Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Tab S2, LG G4, LG G3, LG V10, LG G Stylo and One M9.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is regarded as the most polished software Google has launched in history. It offers several improvements in system process and management. One of the most notable new features it brought in is the power saver called Doze. The new feature promises to improve battery life by manipulating apps running in the background as well as the idle ones.
