US authorities continue their manhunt operation on the three prisoner escapees from a California jail. The said prisoners had a "brazen jailbreak" after they rappelled from the roof of a high security jail facility by only using bed sheets.
According to Yahoo News, the three jailbreakers were identified as Jonathan Tieu, Bac Duong and Hossein Nayeri who were reported missing from Orange County Men's Central Jail in Santa Ana, in Southern California on Friday. Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens alerted and warned the public that the three prisoners are dangerous criminals.
Hutchens said, the inmates escaped by "managing to get past security points in at least three areas", ABC News reported. The prisoners were apparently had an accessed with the plumbing systems of the jail. They also used some tools in cutting metal bars and made a makeshift rope by using bed sheets to rappel from the facility's roof. The three inmate escapees were charged with murder for Tieu, 20, Duong, age 43, charged with attempted murder and Nayeri, 37 is charged with kidnapping and torture.
The manhunt began on Sunday night on local, state and federal authorities in search for the three men, according to Reuters. Sheriff's spokesman, Lieutenant Jeff Hallock said, they are pursuing on a number of leads however, they had no reports of sightings or clues to their whereabouts.
The jail has around 900 inmates and is located about 9 miles south of Anaheim, the Los Angeles-area, where it is also known as the home of Disneyland. US authorities are also investigating on the possibilities that three had help from the people inside and outside the jail or could be armed.
Hutchens added, "My investigations team is working around the clock with the Orange County District Attorney's Office, the Orange County Probation Office, the US Marshals and the FBI." She also said, she is confident with the "collaborative effort" of the US authorities in returning the inmates escapes to jail. They also set a reward for people who can point their whereabouts.
