After busting the box-office with a great revenue and being generally approved by critics in 2012, 'Jack Reacher' is getting a sequel entitled 'Jack Reacher 2: Never Go Back'. Now, the action thriller film will start continue shooting in Baton Rouge while recent news indicate that a character was added.
Jack Reacher may not be that satisfying to many but still, it made good first impression to critics and with this, the production team has started to film the sequel in Baton Rouge. According to WBRZ, road closures are going to impact the Capital City as the Tom Cruise movie is being shoot for the weekend. With regards to this, North Street in Downtown Baton Rouge is not available for vehicles on 5 in the morning until 7 in the evening of both weekends. The Baton Rouge Police is in the stated locations to block incoming vehicles all throughout the day.
Moreover, an additional character was announced for the Jack Reacher 2 in the form of Avenger's Robert Knepper. The Cinema Blend wrote that Robert Knepper has been brought to the table to play the role of General Harkness. Knepper is considered to be prolific film and television actor was seen on Hunger Games, Peter Jackson films, Prison Break and Heroes. It was reported that Knepper is not new to the bad guy characters due to the demeanor look to him which would be beneficial to General Harkness.
In line with this, General Harkness was detailed in the reports of Deadline. In the article, General Harkness is a retired army guy who went to become a CEO of a private military company. Harkness' personality is treated to be a "man of power, experience and authority who thinks he's the hero" before adding that he'll do anything necessary. Many already thinks he's being the antagonist in the film but due to Patrick Heusinger involvement, it was speculated that he won't be the true villain.
'Jack Reacher 2' is the upcoming action thriller film starring Tom Cruise as the titular character. The sequel will be based on the 2013's novel entitled Never Go Back by Lee Child. The filming has continued in Baton Rouge while recent news include Robert Knepper as another character to appear. Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is helmed by Edward Zwick and slated for an October 2016 release.
