The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow beta version has started rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and LG G4. More LG devices are expected to get the Android 6.0.1 update soon.

Google is gearing up to release the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update as it makes the beta version available to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Users of these devices who have joined the Android Marshmallow beta program can install the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow beta version. It was reported that Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will be officially released to the public when tests are successful.

Neurogadget said that the LG G4 is also receiving the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. However, it is only available to US Cellular variants. It is not yet known when the update will land on Verizon and AT&T units.

Users of LG G4 with model US-991 and US Cellular as carrier may install the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on their devices. It is labeled as US99120B for LG G4 owners.

Although Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is not considered a major update, it contains useful features, fixes, and security patches. Google encourages users to download monthly updates to keep their devices protected from malicious software attacks and other software-related problems.

According to International Business Times, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow has a new "install overnight" feature that can be useful for downloading and installing software updates. Install Overnight will schedule installation of app updates at 2 AM to 5 PM.

Samsung users can expect that their devices' page scrolling speeds are reduced in Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. This will reportedly give more time for the processor to load pages, preventing unnecessary lags and crashes.

Android 6.0.1 also brings improvements on the Edge panels and interface. In addition, it brings 200 new emojis and other performance optimizations. The update will also improve the OS stability.

Lawyer Herald previously reported that other LG devices are slated to get Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update soon. These are the LG V10, LG G3, and LG G Stylo, all of which are currently on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Google LG Nexus 5 and LG Nexus 5X are currently the only devices officially updated to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Since the update is still in its experimental stage, users may have to wait a while until the update officially arrives to their devices.
