LG G4 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Release on AT&T Up Next

By

LG is pushing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its devices, following releases of Sprint and US Cellular and announcement of a Canadian carrier, G4 units under AT&T could be up next for the biggest software update.

AT&T is poised to roll out the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow build to its G4 phones despite the lack of verified sources. Many believe about the imminent release in the United States, that if one carrier begins to roll out it can be safe to assume that other carriers will follow suit to keep up with the progressing trend.

LG G4 units of the network are a few steps closer now to Marshmallow, as there are only three carriers aside from AT&T that have not updated. These include Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile.

The latest Android version AT&T released to the device is the Android 5.1 Lollipop and has confirmed skipping the Android 5.1.1 version. As reported previously, AT&T could possibly be releasing the update to G4 before January comes to an end.

Others carriers that have yet to release the update include Bell and Virgin Mobile. Meanwhile, no G3 device so far has been updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The new build brings in security patches for several issues affecting the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MMS and more. It also comes with a new and updated emoji collection on top of Marshmallow's native features.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will offer new features like Doze and Now on Tap and improvements in Android Pay, connectivity, user interface and controls, among others.

Doze is the new power saving feature that screens phone and puts into a deep sleep when idle. This way, power consumption is being controlled.

Google Now expands with Now on Tap. This addition suggests relevant information that users might use. This goes anything under the sun like restaurant, movie trailer, celebrity biography, mall location, and more.
