Charlie Sheen recently travelled to Mexico to receive an alternative treatment for his HIV condition. However new reports say that the actor is now back to receiving proper HIV meds.
In a recent appearance on the Dr. Oz show, the former "Two And A Half Men" star shared that he has stopped taking his HIV drug prescriptions to try an alternative treatment. He claims that he's put his trust under the care of alternative physician who boasts of an effective alternate treatment.
Sheen proclaimed on the show how he knows his decision is risking his life and reveals he doesn't care at all.
"Am I risking my life? Sure. So what? I was born dead." The 50-year-old actor said.
After news broke out that Sheen is infected with the virus, the actor himself has confirmed to the "Today" show's Matt Lauer that he is indeed HIV positive. And it looks like he's really gone to put himself in his alternative physician's care even referring to himself as some kind of "guinea pig."
"I didn't see it as Russian roulette. I didn't see it as a complete dismissal of the conventional course we've been on." Sheen stated. "I'm not recommending that anyone - I'm presenting myself as a type of guinea pig."
Word is that Sheen's new doctor, Dr. Sam Chachoua, is so confident in his methods that he even reportedly injected himself with the star's blood. But it seems that the alternative didn't work after all.
Now as per People, Charlie Sheen has gone back to taking his HIV medication. After the star has found that he had detectable traces of the disease in his blood, he's gone back to taking proper meds.
Sheen's manager has confirmed this report to the publication.
"Charlie is back on his meds. He tried a cure from a doctor in Mexico but the minute the numbers went up, he started taking his medicine," Burg said.
To this, Sheen also expressed his disappointment on Oz seeing that his condition got worse. In any case, he's back to fighting HIV by taking the proper medication he needs.
