Samsung Galaxy J7 is confirmed to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow via official over-the-air (OTA) update following the revelation of a new list including the said device as among lucky recipients. The most exciting update in history will bring in a host of new features and enhancements.

Samsung Galaxy J7 has been revealed on a new track list for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update. Despite mobile carriers keeping mum about the roll out, the new roadmap proves that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is indeed coming to the device very soon. Major carriers like T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, AT&T, US Cellular, Bell and Vodafone are not expected to officially announce the good news as of now, they will just inform Galaxy J7 owners with the update when it comes out.

Galaxy J7 is expected to be undergoing the manufacturer development wherein a carrier and the mobile maker have agreed to support the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software update. After this phase is the beta testing wherein the device will go through the carrier's certification process testing to make sure users get the best quality software. Finally, the complete stage comes when the software has been approved to launch and is available already.

Although exact release date has not been announced, Marshmallow is slated to roll out to the device not later than April 2016.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will offer key features and enhancements, allowing users to: (1) exercise greater control over app permissions; (2) purchase easily and securely with fingerprint support and Android Pay; (3) experience enhanced battery-life through Doze; and (4) redesigned app Drawer.

The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is currently rolling out in beta to Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 units. Confirmed up next are Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Tab S2 devices.

Galaxy J7 is a 5.5-inch device running on 13 MP main camera, 1.5 GB of RAM and 3,000 mAh battery.
