'New Girl' Season 5 Update: Zooey Deschanel is back; 'Jury Duty' airs Jan. 19th

Zooey Deschanel finally comes back to work on the set of "New Girl" Season 5 last Wednesday. With that being said, series creator Liz Meriweather dishes on what fans should expect in the 5th installment while the official plot for episode 3 has been released by FOX Network.

"New Girl" star Zooey Deschanel is back on set of "New Girl" Season 5. According to Daily Mail, Deschanel is back to work last Wednesday, January 13 2016. The 35-year-old American actress took a maternity leave to have her baby girl Elsie Otter last July 2015. The actress showed on set wearing a casual attire in Pasadena.

On the other hand, series creator Elizabeth Meriweather reveals to TV Guide on what fans should expect in "New Girl" Season 5.

Meriweather states, "There's been a lot of really funny stuff we've done over the years with them being incredibly immature, but it felt like the right moment to let them take steps forward.

We've been having an amazing time this season growing the characters, and it's resulted in more comedy, not less comedy. It's been funny to have an outside perspective looking at our group and being like you guys are a bunch of weirdos."

As for the official synopsis for Season 5 episode 3, TV details that Jessica "Jess" Day can't hold her sheer excitement about the jury duty after finding out that she has the potential to be promoted at her work. On the other hand, Nick Miller (Jake Johnson) becomes extremely angry over the mess that CeCe Parekh (Hannah Simone) made in the loft.

"New Girl" Season 5 Episode 3 is entitled as "Jury Duty". The forthcoming episode is slated to premiere on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 9:00 p.m. exclusively on FOX Network. "New Girl" is an American situational comedy TV series created by Elizabeth Meriweater under the working title of "Chicks and Dicks".
