‘Robin Hood: Origins’ Casts Jamie Foxx; Eve Hewson Excited for the Movie

After Jamie Foxx' Steve Harvey-Miss Universe impression in Golden Globes, he will take on the character of Little John in the upcoming film "Robin Hood: Origins". He will join "Kingsman: The Secret Service" star Taron Egerton and and Eve Hewson, who is set to play Maid Marian in the film.

The production for the film will start late summer this year after Eagerton finished his filming for 'Kingsman' sequel, as Deadline reported. The movie will be directed by Otto Bathurst and will be produced by Lionsgate. It was said that it will have a different take and will show a gritty side as Foxx's character will be more of a manly mentor than a wizened mentor. Little John is going to be a war veteran who is war weary. He is first against of Robin Hood but will warm up in the middle.

According to Coming Soon, this film will take on a new side of the folk story of the hero. The movie plot will show the return of Robin Hood from The Crusades and will see a corrupt and full of evil Sherwood Forest. He then will take law into his hands and will team with other bandits. The script for "Robin Hood: Origins" hails was written by Joby Harold. Safe House Prods will produce the film.

RTE said that the 24-year-old Dubliner was excited to film the movie. She had a reading with Eagerton and he found the actor great. "Marian was a pioneer. All I can really say is I am excited to give it a crack and I think it's going to be a new take on the role," she added.
