'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was a huge success and it was the one who dethroned 'Jurassic World' for the box office last year.
However, according to Polygon, there is an online petition going on Change.org that wants to oust him from being the director. Fans aired their opinion that Trevorrows reusing of ideas in 'Jurassic World' is to comparable to alike criticisms presently being thrown at J.J. Abrams' 'The Force Awakens'. These fans that created the online petition to replace Trevorrow wanted Star Wars creator and director of the first four episodes, George Lucas to direct it again.
The petition has currently 20,000 signatures. Trevorrow saw the petition online and he found it funny. He said on Entertainment Tonight that the day he saw those was the day he was offered to direct the film. He was at Lucasfilm giving his big speech to everyone about how he wanted to show and transfer the invention and just the raw creativeness and the self-assurance that George brought to these films, said Hollywood Reporter. He added that "When George Lucas made Star Wars, a lot of people thought it was crazy."
He also explained that when directors or writers try to pitch those types of movies, people try to stop them and tell them they are crazy. But, George Lucas did not stop, he was brave and he continued. Trevorrow wanted to do the same and will not let those people stop him from doing his thing.
