Microsoft is set to release another mid-range handset with the Microsoft Lumia 650. Alleged photos of the device have been leaked as well as its possible specifications. It is also expected to be an upgrade of the Lumia 550 but also a cheaper version of the Lumia 950.
According to Tech Times, Microsoft is expected to release a Windows 10 mid-range smartphone which would be slightly better than its cheaper version. Recent speculations on its features suggest that the new handset will flaunt its 5-inch display with 720x1280 pixels resolution LCD.
It is also rumored ti be back with 1GB of RAM, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 250 SoC. An 8MP rear shooter will also be incorporated in the device with its LED flash, while a decent 5MP will be installed in its front-facing camera.
It is also claimed to have a weaker 2,000mAh battery but its high side would be that it could be charged wirelessly. The leaked photos reveal that it will feature sophisticated metal edge design and aluminum finish which could be extended up to its back.
Other speculations also suggest that the new handset could be released with 8GB or 16GB of internal storage which could be further expanded through a micro-SD card slot up to 200GB. However, it hasn't been confirmed whether the device will have an LTE support.
Furthermore, while the official release of Microsoft Lumia 650 has not been announced yet, Softpedia reported that the company is expected to introduce an affordable Windows 10 handset during the first quarter of 2016 and current possible models are the Lumia 650 and Lumia 850.
According to Techno Buffalo, Microsoft CMO Chris Capossela has confirmed that the new device is currently in development. It has also been approved by FCC, with its model RM-1152 model number as stated in its filing.
No details have been confirmed as to when the Microsoft 650 will officially debut. However, rumors suggest that its more sophisticated version, the Lumia 950 could be unveiled during the Mobile World Convention. But until Microsoft release an official statement, these speculations must be treated with a grain of salt for now.
