HTC could be heading to release the HTC Vive during the first quarter of the year and is expected to compete against leading brands which will release their own VR gadgets. Its design is expected to retain its comfort ability for its users.

As reported by The Verge, the company has confirmed that pre-order for the upcoming wearable gaming device will soon be available on February29. Speculations suggest also suggest that it could be ready for shipment in April although its exact release date has not been confirmed yet.

According to HTC chief executive Cher Wang during her talk with Telegraph, the company had chosen to focus on Virtual Reality than smartphones. "Yes, smartphones are important, but to create a natural extension to other connected devices like wearables and virtual reality is more important", Wang said.

Vive has been made possible with game maker, Valve, and aims to immerse the user in the gaming environment but still provide control on the external real/physical surroundings. In a report by Wearable of the demo for the gadget last May, the VR's design has reportedly been altered to be more comfortable to wear for its users.

The could be smaller, and released with foam inserts that are swappable, as well as nose 'gaskets'. It is could also have adjustable straps which would make it fit more comfortably, and usable even with glasses.

HTC Vive is likely to retain its matte black plastic style, and overall shape. It could also have 1080 x 1200 screens with 90fps refresh rates, and released with controllers with dual stage trigger button, home button, and circular touch pad.

Furthermore, its 'chaperone' technology would also allow users to see objects and people around by double tapping the home button in the controller. The new VR is expected to require a powerful computer that could handle intricate processes and sophisticated graphics. It is expected to compete against Oculus Rift and Sony's PlayStation VR.

However, more advanced computers are expected to debut in 2016 which consumers could also check out. The price for the forthcoming HTC Vive still unknown but its details, official release date and final design are expected to be unveiled several days before it is made available for pre-order.
