A woman and two men were charged with meth possession following their arrest for driving under the influence.
Authorities stopped Stephanie Caroline Hartley, 45, of 20 Chateau Drive, Room 133 for suspected DUI, as reported by Northwest Georgia News. Police searched her car and discovered a glass smoking device and meth residue inside her prescription bottle.
The source added Hartley was put in jail and charged with felony meth possession, possession of drug-related objects and misdemeanor DUI.
WRGA Rome site confirmed that Hartley was placed in Floyd County Jail following her arrest for possession of methamphetamine charges.
According to arrest records, Hartley was apprehended near her home on Chateau Drive for alleged DUI. However, when officers examined her vehicle they recovered a smoking glass device with suspected methamphetamine residue in Hartley's prescription medication bag, the news site said.
Hartley was charged with possession of drug related objects and driving under the influence of drugs. She is held at the Floyd County Jail without bond.
Meanwhile, from the same news site, a man is facing similar charges after his arrest Saturday night for suspected driving under influence at Robinson and Rooney Road.
According to records obtained by WRGA Rome, Jeffrey Dean Swanson, 44 with address at Robinson Avenue, was held for possession of 14 blue pills, suspected to be Alprazolam. He is facing charges for possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and DUI.
This is not the first meth possession case this year though. A man from Lindale was also put to jail after being suspected with methamphetamine, according to Northwest Georgia News.
Brandon Carl Porter, 30, of 1350 Booger Hollow Road, was taken into custody Monday at Wal-Mart, 825 Cartersville Highway, after Police searched his car and found multiple bags of methamphetamine, glass pipes and a digital scale.
Porter is charged with five felony counts of possession of methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute and four misdemeanor counts of possession of drug-related objects.
