The much awaited Nintendo NX is believed to be released this year. This newest gaming device from the Japanese tech company is also predicted to have two varieties, one portable and the other, a home console.
According to Daily Express, it is getting really hard to keep up with the level of contradicting news that features the Nintendo NX. There are some sources claiming that the release in 2016 is certain, while others can't consider there will be enough third-party support.
However, the latest is that Nintendo plans to unveil their NX concept sometime between March and May and will be trailed by a big event in June. The Nintendo NX will gets its full reveal then, while the console will launch in either October or November, 2016.
This will be great news to fans who are eager to find out whether the NX will incorporate a wraparound touchscreen controller device, high-spec power, or a multi-platform hybrid design. But there will be a disadvantage for Nintendo if the company decides to release the new device in 2016. Nomura Securities predicts that the release will head to a drop in Nintendo 3DS and Wii U sales that will lower projections for the company.
Christian Post reported that apart from the predictions of Nomura, information about the pricing has also been discovered. From 21,900 yen, the NX is said to be tagged at 17,300 yen, which will make it more reasonable to gamers who can't afford the initial price.
The NX may come as a mix-up of the Wii U and the GameCube pad, according to some reports. This indicates that the Nintendo NX will be a unique device compared to other platforms in the market. Other rumors suggest that it will be a hybrid version of hand-held devices and a console, making some fans speculate that it might have a wireless, Bluetooth-powered device for control.
Additionally, International Business Times stated that the Ubisoft Bucharest developer revealed that his company has started to create games with the NX dev kit they received in October 2015. He even mentioned the two aforementioned variants of the device and claimed that the portableone will be released in late 2016, while the home console will probably launch sometime in 2017. The developer also said that these two devices will share the same OS and account system.
All of the above mentioned information, however, are based on predictions and speculations. Nintendo hasn't confirmed anything yet about the NX but definitely soon the Japanese tech company will be announcing all the specifics about its upcoming gaming console.
