‘Bad Santa 2’ Update: Black Comedy sequel to be released on Holidays; Christina Hendricks as Santa's love interest

By

Billy Bob Thorton's Bad Santa was released almost 13 years ago and previous news has confirmed that the sequel is happening for the black comedy. Now, the studio handling it has released dates of release. Moreover, the new addition to the 2003 film has been uncovered and it will include an Emmy nominee.

Willie Stokes will be surely back to the big screens worldwide as news has verified that Bad Santa is having its part two and release date of the film is already here. According to Variety, the comedy will arrive just in time to be part of the holidays for movie goers. The distributor, Broad Green Pictures, has set the date to November 23, 2016 and that's closely to the Thanksgiving release of other films. Bad Santa 2 will contest the Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Disney's Moana, action film The Great Wall and an anticipated thriller film of Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard.

Moreover, washed-up department store Santa will be paired with another Emmy nominee actress as his love interest. Daily Mail reported that Christina Hendricks will be joining the holiday sequel as Diane. Mad Men star Hendricks will be the love interest of Thorton's William Stokes since the former is an Ivy league student with fetishes regarding lowlife individuals dressed up as Santa.

In addition to this, Slash Film noted that Thorton's character also wooed up Lauren Graham's Sue in the original movie and this might be the film where Bad Santa will find himself being romanticized. Also, since Hendricks' character is a wealthy woman, she is then targeted to be scammed by Willie Stokes and his mother Sunny, played by Kathy Bates.

Bad Santa 2 is the sequel to the cult comedy of 2003 starring Billy Bob Thorton as the lead role character. The black comedy film sequel will feature new actress in the form of Christina Hendricks as his love interest and scam target. Bad Santa 2 is slated for a 2016 holiday release of November 23, 2016.
