Sony Xperia M5 Gets Closer to Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update, Plus New Sony Phones Available

By

Sony Xperia M5 has been confirmed getting closer to the official over-the-air (OTA) update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow despite the company being silent about software roll outs. The upgrade comes with a bunch of new features and optimizations to overall performance.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to amp up the Sony Xperia M5 smartphone with the improvements it brings. Sony has already promised before that the upgrade will also come with new Sony features on top of the improvements.

In Sony's roadmap for Android 6.0, Xperia M5 is an absolute candidate for early Marshmallow update because of its powerhouse features on a mid-range price, aside from it being a 2015 crowd favorite. The waterproof device is accompanied in the Marshmallow line with other Sony powerhouses like Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium and Z5 Compact.

Sony Mobile stated previously its promise to live up with the expectations of the tech industry of what is considered a stiff competition in a robust community. It furthered that it is paying a close attention to bring in the Android update to as many smartphones and tablets as many and as soon as possible.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes with Google Now on Tap, better app permissions, fingerprint support, USB Type-C support, new app drawer, expanding Android Pay and Doze, among many others.

Google Now becomes smarter with Now on Tap. It recognizes diverse contexts, offers answers and aids users take action. The new apps permissions would ask users to allow or deny a permission at the point of each use and not at the point of installation of, say, an app.

Meanwhile, Sony is confirmed to release a new killer smartphone almost similar to Xperia C5 Ultra in built on January 29, as revealed on the recent CES event.

Sony Xperia M5 is a 5-inch smartphone first released in September 2015. It has a dustproof and waterproof build. The display is beautifully crafted with an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen protected by a scratch resistant glass. It sports a 21.5 MP front 13 MP front camera, 3 GB of RAM, and a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery.
