Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is confirmed closing in on Sony Xperia C4 smartphones, as the Japanese giant has recently confirmed the device for it. The Marshmallow software is now set, waiting to be released to the device by the first quarter of the year.
Sony Xperia C4 has been confirmed getting a major treat from Google as the smartphone is finally bound for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update as early as January. As the most refined Android upgrade in history, Marshmallow will bring in features already popular due to its premium functionality and class.
Sony Mobile has not outlined the details of the roll out, but there has been a word in the tech world since the device manufacturer revealed its roadmap plans of Marshmallow in October 2015 that update shall come to a few Xperia device including the C4 this month. However, Sony remains mum about the speculations.
Sony Xperia C4 was first released in June 2015. It has a 5.5-inch display made of a scratch resistant glass. It wears a 13 MP main camera, 5 MP selfie camera, 2 GB of RAM, and a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery. The device was last updated with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop last year.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow offers notable features and improvements to the device, plus support to fingerprint technology, USB Type-C and Android Pay.
Fingerprint sensor gives devices an all-in-one scanning technology for purchasing with Android Pay and locking and unlocking phone. Android Pay now extends to more mobile payment methods like American Express, Visa, Master Card and Discover. Google Pay also is added to the pact.
The new app drawer has been overhauled with its horizontal scrolling method being ditched in favor of a vertical scroll. The scroll rests on a white background for a stronger contrast. On top of that, the redesigned drawer shows four most recently used apps across the top of the menu.
Sony has confirmed Marshmallow to 13 other smartphones and tablets.
