Chine tech giant OnePlus has been warming up for the release of the mini version of OnePlus 2. The upcoming OnePlus 2 Mini has been recently certified at TENAA, the FCC equivalent in China.
According to The Asian Age, the OnePLus 2 Mini was listed as OneE1000 on 28 December 2015. The certification site suggests that the handset will feature a larger 4.99-inch OLED HD resolution screen in comparison to earlier leaks. The device measures 140 mm tall, 69 mm wide, 6.9 mm thin and weighs only 138 grams.
Based on the listing, the OnPlus 2 Mini comes with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset clocked at 2.0 Ghz and 3GB RAM. When it comes to storage, the OnePlus 2 Mini will have a 16GB internal storage capacity, which can be further expanded to 128GB via external microSD card.
As for the camera, the OnePlus 2 Mini is said to feature a 13MP primary camera set-up, which can record video at HD resolutions and an 8MP secondary snapper. The device will run on the latest version of Oxygen OS (Android Lollipop5.1.1), but users can expect a Marshmallow upgrade soon.
Meanwhile, there is no battery information provided but the device is likely to be powered with a battery capacity similar or slightly higher than the OnePlus X.
Furthermore, Christian Post added that the details based on TENAA's listing do not match the one that was found on GFXBench. According to the benchmarking website, the OnePlus 2 Mini will only sport a 4.6-inch display. It also reported that the handset will have a Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 1.7GHz with 4 GB of RAM. The built-in storage is also bigger with a capacity of 64 GB and the cameras are of 12-megapixel and 4.8-megapixel resolutions.
When it comes to the OnePlus 2 Mini's price, International Business Times stated on its article that the handset will reportedly set the buyers back in between of $250 and $350. Moreover, the release date of the smartphone is rumored to be set in the first quarter of 2016.
In any case, users should take the reported OnePlus 2 Mini specifications, release date and price with the proverbial pinch of salt as the Chinese tech company has not confirmed any details yet. Hopefully, more information about the device will be given as its rumored release nears.
