'Gambit' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film featuring Channing Tatum in the lead role. The 35-year old American actor joined the entire cast of the X-Men cinematic universe for a photoshoot for Empire Magazine. Past Gambit actor Taylor Kitsch was not disappointed about not getting the chance to reprise the superhero in the new standalone film and wished Tatum the best of luck.

According to Collider, the entire cast of Marvel's X-Men cinematic universe assembled for a group photograph for Empire Magazine. Some of the biggest names in Hollywood took part in the photoshoot including Channing Tatum (Gambit), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), James McAvoy (Professor X), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) among others.

Tatum will debut as the Remy LeBeau a.k.a. Gambit in his first ever standalone film for Marvel. Gambit first appeared in the comic book 'Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #266'. He is known for his powers such as molecular acceleration, static interference, toxic transmutation, time travel and precognition.

According to Zimbio, 'Gambit' won't be the only superhero film slated for release on 2016. 'Deadpool' is scheduled for February, 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' opens in March, 'Captain America: Civil War' and 'X-Men: Apocalypse' are both scheduled for May, 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows' follows in June, 'Suicide Squad' follows in August and 'Doctor Strange' premieres on November.

'Friday Night Lights' star Taylor Kitsch was first cast as Gambit in the 2009 release 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', according to Cinema Blend. The 34-year old actor did not seem disappointed that he wouldn't be reprising his role in one of X-Men's most anticipated solo movies of the year as he wished Tatum the best of luck.

He said, "I wish [Channing] nothing but the best. It was a fun character to play, and I learned a lot working with Hugh [Jackman] and had an amazing time in Australia. I'm sure they're doing their own thing with it, and I'm sure Channing will be great."

'Gambit' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film based on the X-Men character of the same name. It is directed by Doug Liman of 'Edge of Tomorrow' fame based on a screenplay by Joshua Zetumer. It is scheduled to be released on October 7, 2016.
