'Baywatch' is an upcoming reboot of the widely popular television series about the lives of a group of Los Angeles County Lifeguards. Kelly Rohrbach has been cast to play Pamela Anderson's character CJ Parker as confirmed by co-star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. The model-actress recently split from her Oscar-nominee beau Leonardo DiCaprio.

According to The Telegraph, Rohrbach has been cast to play CJ Parker opposite Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Efron in the upcoming 'Baywatch' Reboot. Johnson announced the news through his personal Instagram account through a series of short videos that included a swimsuit clad Rohrbach running on the beach in slow motion. The model-actress had minor roles in television shows such as 'Rizzoli and Isles', 'Two and a Half Men', 'The New Normal' and 'Rush'.

Johnson posted one specific photograph captioned, "A pleasure welcoming @kellyrohrbach to our #BAYWATCH family for the iconic role of "CJ Parker". Yes, she's a walking smoke stack but more importantly... she's smart, tough and funny. Just the way we like 'em. Get ready world, we can't wait to bring you our generation's #BAYWATCH! You'll have fun..."

According to Metro, the iconic role for CJ Parker was attached to several other Hollywood beauties including Kelly Brook of 'Piranha 3D', Ashley Benson of 'Pretty Little Liars', Nina Dobrev of 'The Vampire Diaries' and Alexandra Daddario of 'San Andreas'. Daddario has been cast as Summer instead.

Rohrbach also appeared in the 2015 'Sports Illustrated' swimsuit issue where she was named "rookie of the year". At some point, she was engaged to Oscar-nominee Leonardo DiCaprio but the couple split up a few months ago. According to People, their hectic career schedules contributed to their break-up with one source citing that although the two are no longer together, they remain on amicable terms.

'Baywatch' is an upcoming remake of the action-drama television series that rose to popularity in the '90s. It is directed by Seth Gordon and stars Efron, Johnson, Daddario and Rohrbach. The original television show featured David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Jeremy Jackson and Nicole Eggert.
