Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is now receiving a security update that was supposed to come in December 2015. The update is reported to precede the official over-the-air (OTA) release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Following the constant changes and unconfirmed schedule of Android 6.0 Marshmallow to many devices, Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is in the forefront of Marshmallow update which is slated to come in the first quarter of 2015.
According to earlier reports, the official update will roll out to the latest Note device this month along with its fellow flagship devices Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6. Speculations back in October told that the Galaxy Note will get the official Marshmallow software in December 2015. However, it never did push through.
As per report from You Mobile, Galaxy Note 5 will receive the Marshmallow update this quarter. The ball will start rolling out as soon as the new build will be approved. In November 2015, beta tests were leaked to the Galaxy Note 5 with model number SM-N920G.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow had been previously revealed by the same site to be rolled out to 13 models of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 across the globe.
