Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is expected to hit LG G3 handsets in the United States following the official roll out happening right now in the European region. Moreover, LG G4 and G Stylo on Sprint have been updated to Marshmallow, it is now closer to possibility that the software will be hitting G3 anytime this month.

LG G3 smartphones in the US will soon receive the official over-the-air Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The update has begun hitting G3 devices first in Poland since the final week of December 2015 and is continuously rolling out across the globe.

According to LG's support page for software updates, a source code of the Marshmallow has already been made available for the device. Testing will commence once the source code integrated to the new build.

Aside from G3, LG is gearing up its devices like G Flex 2 and V10 to precede the update of G4 and G Stylo. In December 2015, G3 was already reported to be updated with Marshmallow before 2015 will end but it did not push through. Instead, G4 and G Stylo on Sprint were the ones updated.

The G3 smartphones being updated in Poland have model number D855. The roll out comes in stages which means push notifications of the download will not be simultaneous.

LG G3 is a flagship smartphone in 2014 and is one of the most common devices in the mobile market to date. It has a 5.5-inch display with QHD 1440 by 2560 pixels. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, a 2 GB of RAM, an expandable 16 GB internal storage and 13 MP main camera.

Doze controls the device's activity and puts into a deep sleep when unused to prolong battery life. Google Now on Tap offers a more accurate and more useful recommendations based on the users' possible scope of interest. Android Pay gets an extra expansion to make purchases without the need to launch another app, unlock phone, etc.
