'Jack Reacher 2' is an upcoming action-thriller film and is intended as the second in the live-action adaptations of author Lee Child's series of the same name. Tom Cruise continued to film in New Orleans and remained mum over Leah Remini's highly publicized and controversial criticism over Scientology.
According to the Daily Mail, Cruise remained mum about a highly controversial interview involving actress Leah Remini's harsh criticism over him and the Church of Scientology. The 45-year old actress and comedian, a former member of Scientology herself, revealed during an interview with ABC's 20/20 that Cruise was one of the big reasons she left the religion created by science fiction novelist L. Ron Hubbard. She said, "Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself...you are evil."
Remini is best known for her role as Carrie Heffernan on hit television series 'The King of Queens'. According to E! Online, she was one of the celebrities invited to Cruise and Katie Holmes' star-studded $2 million wedding in Italy and it was one of the turning points that pushed her to leave the controversial organization for good. She admitted that she left the wedding with hopes to save the religion but was met with numerous accusations against her by former fellow Scientologists for causing trouble at the event.
Cruise is one of the most high-profile members of the organization and is known to hold massive influence over it. His best man in the 2006 wedding was Scientology leader David Miscavige. Remini noted that the 3-day event in Italy was more of a networking event than an actual wedding.
Despite Remini's insider allegations towards the organization and Cruise himself, the actor continue principal photography for 'Jack Reacher: Never Go Back' in New Orleans. According to Entertainment Weekly, Cruise is set to reprise the titular character under the direction of 'The Last Samurai' helmer Ed Zwick. The upcoming action film is adapted from author Lee Child's 18th book in the Jack Reacher series first published in 2013.
'Jack Reacher: Never Go Back' is the sequel to the 2012 action-thriller film starring Tom Cruise. It is co-written and directed by Edward Zwick. David Ellison, Herb Gains and Dana Goldberg serve as the second film's executive producer while Cruise and Don Granger are producing.
