James Cameron finally announced the official release date of Avatar 2. The sequel of the worldwide hit Avatar is surely coming along pretty nicely and that fans will finally see it during Christmas in 2017.
The first film Avatar was made in 14 years. However, Avatar 2 will happen in just two years. Fans all over the world are a bit anxious regarding the comparison of the number of years between the production of the two films. While many fans expected the sequel to be released on Christmas 2016, James Cameron has said that they are targeting 2017 instead.
According to Parent Herald, the 61-year-old director said, "I don't consider that to be as important as the fact that when we get all three films done, we drop them a year apart."
Jon Landau, the producer of Avatar 2, has also said that they will not disappoint fans and viewers and that they will deliver something that exceeds their expectations.
Reports tell fans that the pre-production team is giving a lot of attention to the details of the film. The actors as well would be doing 3 movies all at once. You heard it right! Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 are now in the making. The award-winning director calls it a 'meta-narrative' that runs across the three movies.
20th Century Fox stated that Avatar 2 would serve as the baseline for the plot of Avatar 3 and Avatar 4. While it is true that the second installment would be release in 2017, the next two movies will be release in 2018 and 2019.
There has also been reports that the team of the trilogy is somewhat experiencing many difficulties and obstacles regarding interweaving the script of the three movies. This might be the reason why they moved Avatar 2 from 2016 to 2017. Another reason for the delay of the movie might be James Cameron himself, who is known to have a growing gap in the amount of time he puts out a film.
James Cameron announced that Avatar 2 is almost complete. Fans are now getting more excited in seeing all the strange creatures and breathtaking landscapes of Pandora. He added that the technical developments are all set, and various infrastructure and stages in the movie are complete as well.
