Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is seriously going to happen and it will include another actor that will suit up and join the spectacular cast for the sequel of 2014 movie. Moreover, Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, talked about the involvement of Marvel Universe big bad villain.

After the premier Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, fans have been asking for a sequel for the fun-filled deep space adventure film. Now that the studio confirmed the Volume 2 and will start filming by February of 2016, questions linger on who will be back and who are going to be added. According to Collider, Kurt Russell, actor from Fast and Furious 7 and The Hateful Eight, might be joining the cast to bag the role of Star-Lord's father. The 64-year old actor said that he received a phone call regarding the film but these negotiations is still vague since he's only just spoken with the director, James Gunn. However, he still didn't take the role right away as he told Gunn that he might need time to familiarize himself with the materials.

After a possible addition of Kurt Russell as the father of main character, all the original cast of the film will be returning for the sequel. As reported by Cross Map, Chris Pratt, played Peter Quill, would love to continue portraying the character in the upcoming films which is not less than 8. Also, the filming will start on February in which all main characters will reprise their respective roles. Lastly, the director said that he's trying to make the film to go deeper with the character and not to add a lot of characters. But nonetheless, he also disclosed the probability of a new female guardian.

Lastly, Thanos involvement in the upcoming sequel is provided by the Marvel Studios president, Kevin Feige, in his interview with Empire. The Cinema Blend reported that Feige does not want the audience to look that much for the Mad Titan in the anticipated film. Furthermore, Thanos wouldn't be messing with anyone in the film but rather the audience might be saying "'Oh, that's why they've been teasing this villain for five years!" The Marvel Studios hasn't given Thanos the total badass action scenes in their cinematic universe and might be saving it up for third and fourth film of The Avengers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the upcoming sequel to the successful original film in 2014. Actor Kurt Russell is being eyed for a key-role in the film while an addition of a female guardian is hinted. Moreover, though it was stated by the Marvel president that we wouldn't be seeing much action from Thanos, fans will be enlightened on the role he'll play in the movie. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is expected to hit theatres in May 5, 2017.
