'Assassin's Creed' is an upcoming action-adventure film directed by Justin Kurzel of 'Snowtown' and 'Macbeth' fame. The film's marketing campaign has gone viral since its launch of the Abstergo website as well as voicemail from fictional CEO Alan Rikkin.

According to Digital Trends, the upcoming live-action adaptation of the highly popular game of the same name has kicked off its marketing campaign beginning with the launch of the Abstergo website. Although new promotional material from 20th Century Fox doesn't give away much about the new film, the website as well as a recently released photo suggested that the game adaptation's release on March will be a big deal for fans and new audiences alike.

A new photograph posted on the movie's official Twitter account featured the business card of Abstergo CEO Alan Rikkin, complete with the fictional character's contact details such as an e-mail address and a phone number. Curious fans who dial the phone number will be directed to a voicemail that says, "Hello, you've reached the voicemail of Alan Rikkin. I'll be out of the office on business until March 25 with limited availability." Alternatively, one can e-mail the address provided and receive the same message.

According to Games Radar, the voice on the other end of the line belongs to Jeremy Irons. The award-winning English actor is set to play Alan Rikkin, the current CEO of Abstergo Industries and a member of the inner sanctum of the Templar Order. He is one of the villains in the original games.

Irons is currently filming in Madrid with leading man Michael Fassbender, who is set to play main protagonist and modern day assassin Callum Lynch as well as his 15th century Spanish ancestor Aguilar. French actress and Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard is set to play Alan Rikkin's daughter in the film. According to Euro Gamer, Iron's character appeared briefly in the first Assassin's Creed game and has been subsequently referenced numerous times throughout the series.

'Assassin's Creed' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film based on the popular Capcom video game series of the same name. It is directed by Justin Kurzel and will feature Fassbender and Cotillard, who he also collaborated with on 2015's Macbeth.
