‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Breaking Many Records; Will Episode VIII be a remake of ‘Empire Strikes Back’?

By

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is now the fastest film to make $300 million. The film has pulled that amount in just only five days of its release. This result will definitely have another Star Wars movie and many say it will be a remake of "Empire Strikes Back".

According to The Verge, in the last few days, "Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens" has broken the record set by "Jurassic World" which is eight days. That is not the only record they broke, they also broke the record set by "Spider Man 2". They stated that after the numbers came in this morning, it showed that the film earned $40.1 million on Monday, crushing the previous record set by "Spider-Man 2", which earned $27.7 million on its first Monday in theaters. Over the weekend, the film earned $528 million making it the biggest international debut ever.

The Vox reported that the undeniably fun, unquestionably well-crafted and well-paced film has unconscientiously mix in the themes and plot elements of the original Star Wars movie in a not so obvious way that it almost can be eligible as a remake or reboot. The ending of the movie made fans speculate that it was set to open for the next "Star Wars" movie. The plot will likely be Rey (as the new Luke) will train on a remote planet with Luke (as the new Yoda) while Finn and Poe are on the run, only to be betrayed and handed over to the First Order. If the speculations will happen, fans may be a bit disappointed with it.

According to theMovieWeb, "Star Wars: Episode VIII" will come to theaters May 26th, 2017. Captain Phasma's character, played by Gwendoline Christie, didn't get much screen time. She was sent off without much of a good-bye. But, she will be having a huge come back in "Star Wars: Episode VIII".
