‘World of Warcraft: Legion’ Update: Blizzard Reveals Honor System, PvP Seasons, Maps Details

By

Blizzard Entertainment recently announced the major changes set for the player versus player sixth expansion of the World of Warcraft.

IGN India wrote on their site that Blizzard is roughly renovating the Legion expansion of World of Warcraft. One major change is that players can no longer obtain gears from merchants in the new Honor System. In its place, game developer adopt the Call of Duty's Prestige leveling system. In this system, the player can earn honor points while increasing the Honor Level to level 50 maximum. Players will be compensated with 'gold, artifact power, and a brand new set of PvP-only Honor Talents.' Honor Talents are abilities earned through increased levels in PvP and are activated while players engage in PvP. Hitting Honor Level 50, players can earn badges and titles with a faction pennant, a new form for the Artifact and distinctive mount and pet.

The site quoted Blizzard saying that the Prestige system is for 'players who are not interested in pursuing higher level but still enjoy PvP, to have their own unique rewards to chase after.'

Basically, Blizzard is dipping the upshots of the player's items on player-versus-player combat allowing matches to center around skills, PC Magazine Asia noted. This will permit new players to have a better chance of battling gamers who invested amount of time to level their gears.

Players entering into the PvP Instance, the stats of the gears are quashed, the site added. Aside from that, any set bonuses, enchants, Legendary bonuses, or trinket effects will be neutralized. The player is given a pre-determined set of stats according to the specialization.

According to Eurogamer, in Legion, gear is gear regardless of where the player gotten it. Players can also receive equipment from PvP for completing Battlegrounds or Arenas. PvP Seasons will also be recurrent and short due to the changes. Blizzard is anticipating that players will not congregate to one faction.

On the side, Legion also introduces new maps - the arena in the Black Rook Hold and another around the Val'sharah, the site mentioned.

Announced during the Gamescom 2015, World of Warcraft: Legion is slated to be available in September 2016 for PC Windows and Mac OS.
