Two Planned Parenthood affiliate organizations sued Kansas and its governor following the cut off of Medicaid funding. The state Department of Health and Environment cited several reasons why it terminated the reimbursement including "noncompliance with applicable state laws" and "unethical or unprofessional conduct."
Missouri lawmakers have passed a budget which allows them to spend millions of United States money to bar Planned Parenthood from accessing the federal government funds. With that being said, the legislators officially barred $8.3 million in federal Medicaid funding.
In order to avoid contempt proceeding, Planned Parenthood agreed to submit documents on fetal disposal to Senate. Meanwhile the state legislature cut the funding for the organization to spend more on education.
