Authorities have recovered the body of Holly Fischer, a missing North Carolinian whose car was found at the bottom on an 800-foot embankment Sunday Night. Investigators had been searching for Fischer since last week when she left her parents' home in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Erwin Antonio Rios, a North Carolina man, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in U.S. District Court for possessing a stolen firearm as part of a personal jihad to kill U.S. Army soldiers.
Jamie Hawn, a Democratic political strategist, died early Wednesday when Raleign police said that Jonathan Broyhill, a best man at her wedding in 2009, stabbed her and her husband Nation at their home. Broyhill has been charged with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Raleigh police said Wednesday they expect to upgrade Broyhill's charges to murder.
Trapped kids were found dead in Stanley, North Carolina after a young boy and girl were buried alive Sunday by dirt while playing in an open hole at a home construction site. The children were recovered Monday by authorities from the 24-foot deep hole.
