Israel released a statement Tuesday afternoon confirming the elimination of Hashem Safieddine, a senior Hezbollah member widely seen as next in line to head the terrorist organization following last month's assassination of leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Three rockets hit Northern Israel on Sunday but no damages nor injuries have been reported. The Katuysha rockets were allegedly fired from the Southern Lebanese port city of Tyre. The attacks follow news of Hezbollah militant Samir Kuntar’s death in an airstrike in Damascus.
Kurdish peshmerga forces backed by U.S. air strikes seized the Iraqi town of Sinjar from Islamic State on Friday, a Reuters witness said, in one of the most significant counter-attacks since the militants swept through the north last year.
