Following is a text of the prepared remarks by President Barack Obama for his annual State of the Union address on Tuesday.

David Stern will step down as the commissioner of the NBA on February 1, and succeeded by Adam Silver, leaving behind a storied 30-year career who took the league to unprecedented international and monetary success. Before his arrival in 1984, Stern dealt with a league known for rampant drug use by its players, but also on the cusp of great success, highlighted by the meteoric rise of legends Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

US prosecutors have indicted Waldyr Da Silva Prado Neto and Igor Carnelson with insider trading in Burger King's $3.2 billion buyout in 2010. Prado was a former broker at Wells Fargo & Co. subsidiary Wells Fargo Advisors, while Carnelson was a Brazilian banker.
