A New York proposed bill would allow police officers to use a textalyzer device to check drivers’ phones to determine whether the driver was on the phone when a crash or accident happened. The device, however, will not give the police officer access to personal data.

Two South African Jews together with an interfaith group are suing The Jewish Board of Deputies (JBD) in Cape Town for alleged gender discrimination. The plaintiffs claimed that the JBD prohibits women from singing at the annual Yom Hashoah - Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony – due to the Orthodox practice of Kol Isha.

Sam Brownback trimmed personal income taxes in 2011, when he became the governor of Kansas, on the vow that tax cuts would fuel recruitment as well as business expansion. Lawmakers in Kansas are more anxious regarding the approval of additional cuts during an election year.
