The slaying of three deaf women in Haiti prompted human rights and advocacy groups for the disabled to stage public protests over the vulnerability of disabled citizens in the country. Jesula Gelin, Vanessa Previl and Monique Vincent were brutally murdered in Cabaret, Haiti on March 19, 2016.

Attorney general Bill Schuette said that they will continue to pursue the case of Flint's Water Crisis to uncover the truth behind the issue. Schuette's statement came after three men were charged in line with their involvement in the case. Residents want more people to take responsibility on the ongoing water crisis.

The tragedy last September 2014 seemingly draws more attention despite the attempts of the government to close the case months after. Two years later, new possible information seemingly makes the matters more confusing for those waiting for conclusions.
